Job Summary:
The Bartender/Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, including specialty coffee drinks, cocktails, and other beverages. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. They will also contribute to the overall guest experience by ensuring all beverage orders are prepared to the highest standards, following the hotel and restaurant's quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve beverages such as espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to the established menu and guest preferences.
- Maintain knowledge of various brewing and mixing methods to create high-quality drinks.
- Suggest beverage pairings and recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring prompt and attentive service.
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and courteously.
- Ensure guests have a positive experience and leave satisfied with their orders.
- Bar & Café Maintenance:
- Ensure the bar and café area is clean, well-organized, and stocked with all necessary supplies (e.g., glasses, garnishes, syrups, coffee beans, liquor).
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, restocking items, and checking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels of coffee, alcohol, mixers, and other ingredients.
- Communicate with the manager for replenishments and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Properly label and store ingredients to prevent spoilage and waste.
- Cash Handling & POS:
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions, including taking orders, processing payments, and handling cash/credit card transactions accurately.
- Prepare daily sales reports and ensure cash balances are correct.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure efficient service and timely preparation of orders.
- Assist in training new team members as required and maintain effective communication within the department.
