Key Responsibilities1. Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and oversee the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights on revenue trends, expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare periodic financial reports and management analyses for strategic decision-making.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
2. Accounting and Financial Management
- Supervise the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and company policies.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support business operations.
3. Budgeting and Cost Control
- Lead the preparation, monitoring, and control of departmental and company-wide budgets.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, and provide explanations and improvement plans.
- Implement cost-effective strategies and ensure efficient use of company resources.
4. Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government filings, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support audit and compliance reviews.
- Develop and maintain robust financial policies, systems, and procedures.
5. Strategic and Operational Support
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and department heads.
- Participate in business planning, pricing, and investment evaluations.
- Support strategic initiatives such as expansion, capital projects, and cost optimization programs.
6. Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise, mentor, and train finance and accounting staff.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Delegate tasks effectively while ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or MBA is an advantage).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, taxation, and corporate governance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and MS Excel.
