JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Can operate a 5-ton road roller compactor or a walk behind in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations.

  • Compact soil to the specified density and smoothness.

  • Conduct pre-operation inspection of the equipment, including checking oil, water, fuel levels, tire/roller condition, and hydraulic systems.

  • Perform basic repair such as hydraulic hose replacement and preventive maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and refueling the roller.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or defects immediately to the site engineer and assist in minor adjustment or repairs when required.

  • Work closely with the site engineer or foreman to ensure proper sequence and pattern of compaction.

  • Support other site operations as directed by the site engineer when equipment is not in use.
