About the Role

The Senior Tax Manager will be an output-based and proactive leader responsible for overseeing PH and other jurisdictions' tax and compliance operations, ensuring the company meets all regulatory and tax standards across various entities and locations. This position encompasses strategic planning, overseeing complex compliance activities, and managing interactions with tax authorities

  • Work hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Manila/Philippine Time

  • Work set-up: Hybrid (Preferably can report to either Makati/Mandaluyong Offices at least 3x a week ; and more if there are seasonal audit reviews)

What you'll do

Tax Strategy:

  • Develop and execute global tax and compliance strategies that align with the company's business objectives.

  • Provide guidance on cross-border tax issues and international tax planning.

  • Identify and assist with the implementation of tax planning and tax saving strategies

  • Proactively suggest and present viable solutions to avoid costs related to new government or BIR-implemented laws.

Regulatory Compliance & Review:

  • Detail review moderate to complex tax returns (all PH, SG, and HK returns) and compliance.

  • Review quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax exposures, and tax optimization.

  • Ensure timely monthly reconciliation of revenues, output, and input VAT

  • Communicate any changes in tax regulations in a timely manner and ensure strict observance of compliances.

Audit and Risk Management:

  • Handle all tax-related audits (internal and external).

  • Ensure tax reconciliations are reviewed and accurate prior to submission to BIR examiners and relevant revenue examiners in other locations (SG and HK).

  • Present the company's tax exposure to management to prepare for potential BIR audits or assessments.

  • Identify and manage tax compliance potential risks and exposure across entities

  • Develop, implement, review and continuously improve policies and procedures to mitigate tax related risks.

Transfer Pricing:

  • Manage and implement transfer pricing policies and ensure strict compliance.

Team and Operations:

  • Assist in developing a high-performing tax and finance operations team, and serving as a backup to the Head of Finance and Accounting Operations

  • Assist other departments on tax, legal and compliance related matters

  • Assist in the review of contracts and collaborate with the legal team for tax related clauses. Assist with consulting projects, as needed

External relations:

  • Participate in client meetings as they relate not only to tax planning

  • Communicate with other tax consultants and best practice of tax application

  • Work with external auditors on PH, SG, and HK for the compliance of various returns and regulatory compliances.

  • Represent the company in tax-related negotiations and discussions


What You Bring:

  • Experience: Approximately 7-10+ years of experience in tax with at least 4 years in a manager/reviewer capacity.

  • Expertise in PH Taxation: Must have extensive knowledge of Philippine taxation, especially on the services side.

  • Regulatory Experience: Must be highly experienced in dealing with BIR examiners.

  • Management: Must be able to oversee tax and compliance operations across PH, SG, and HK

  • Compliance Knowledge: Must know the taxation processing for Individual Contractors (IC).

  • Soft Skills: Must be analytical and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advisory Experience: Preferably with advisory tax experience from audit firms
  • Background: Tax with high net worth experience preferred.
  • International Knowledge (Nice-to-Have): Knowledgeable with Tax Strategy and Regulatory Compliance in SG and HK.
    • Note: While not mandatory, the candidate must be capable of coordinating and communicating with those entities and willing to research their taxations as part of their responsibilities ).
