KE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, research, development and technological advancement of Subsea Services assets, equipment, systems and processes ensuring increased efficiency in project delivery.
  • Actively use and participate in the Subsea Services Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) Participate in offshore Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems included with in the Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) Participate in the Subsea Services Survey Competency Assurance System (CAS) by assessing field staff competencies with the Survey and Inspection Technical Manager
  • Attend project briefings / Debriefings to understand and participate in survey technical operations offshore
  • Assist the Party Chief, Surveyor or Survey Engineer with calibrating sensors as required.
  • Assist in Field Reports including Calibrations, Installation, participate in Toolbox Talks etc.
  • Assist with the installation, calibration and maintenance of all survey equipment offshore as required.
  • Effect repairs as and when required to maintain the operational status of all equipment with assistance.
  • Online operation of survey systems and data QC providing documentation and communication including shift hand-over, field reporting and daily project reporting.
  • Carry out instructions from Party Chief and/or senior personnel
  • Notify the Party Chief of equipment issues in a timely manner as required.
  • In consultation with Survey Engineers prepare or update engineering handover notes.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of online, processing and support software systems utilised offshore – Qinsy Navigation and Acquisition, Veripos GNSS Positioning, Fusion USBL, Caris HIPS Bathymetry Processing, AutoCAD etc.
  • Work actively on self-learning and broadening of skill set via Competency Assurance Scheme (CAS)
  • Assist in the preparation of Operations Plans.
  • Supervised preparation of internal reports, final reports and drawing source data.
  • Processing of data ensuring a clear path from raw data to final deliverable.
  • Assist with project preparation and project close-out reports including actioning of engineering notes, ensuring effective data management and ensuring good communication with relevant Managers
  • Participate actively in IBMS, training and safety systems and encourage other personnel to participate
  • Comply with legal requirements and approved HSEQ policies, procedures and instructions
  • Report HSEQ issues and incidents as soon as practicable to the responsible supervisor or manager
  • Behave in a safe and conscientious manner at all times so as not to introduce any hazard or create a risk due to own action or inaction
  • Lead by example demonstrating that safety is paramount in the workplace
  • Be aware of and implement current safety trends, industry standards and practices
  • Attend Survey related HAZID or client safety meetings as practicable

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree, specifically Surveying or Marine Science, or equivalent
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (desirable)
  • Valid CSTP and/or TBOSIET or equivalent offshore licence (desirable)
  • SSSI membership and active maintenance of a field logbook is desirable for the Certified Professional Hydrographic Surveyor (CPHS) accreditation program
