The Pharmacist's responsibilities and duties include:
  • Reviewing and executing physician's prescriptions and checking their appropriateness and legality.
  • Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
  • Maintaining full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicines and medical supplies.
  • Train additional staff within the pharmacy, including interns, students and residents/pharmacy assistants.
  • Make sure all government and state drug laws are followed, which involves removing expired drugs from the premises, maintaining records of all controlled substances and informing management of any changes that need to be made.
  • Ensure a safe environment is maintained within the pharmacy.
  • Attend workshops and review pharmaceutical publications in order to keep knowledge of up-to-date practices.
