Diet Clerk – Job Description

A Diet Clerk is responsible for assisting the dietary department in planning, recording, and serving meals that meet patients' nutritional needs and medical requirements. They act as a link between patients, dietitians, and the food service staff to ensure accurate food service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview patients regarding food preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Translate dietitian's meal plans into accurate patient meal orders.
  • Review and update patient diet information in the system daily.
  • Ensure meal tickets and trays correspond to prescribed diets.
  • Communicate changes in diets, food allergies, or special requests to kitchen staff.
  • Answer patient calls related to meals and resolve food service issues.
  • Maintain accurate diet office records, menus, and reports.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, nurses, and food service staff to meet patient needs.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital dietary policies and food safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Graduate of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in healthcare food service, nutrition, or dietary department (preferred).
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and therapeutic diets.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow diet orders and medical terminology.
  • Computer literacy for data entry and diet software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php20,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
