The Design Engineer plays a key role in supporting the technical requirements of each project by developing comprehensive mechanical designs and detailed drawings. This role is critical in ensuring that all mechanical aspects of a project—from concept to execution—are efficiently and accurately designed, compliant with standards, and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare initial mechanical system designs, including layouts, specifications, and equipment schedules based on project requirements and client standards. And coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to align design objectives.
  • Produce detailed mechanical schematic diagrams and layouts for HVAC, piping, and ducting systems using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools. Develop and submit accurate life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection reports as required.
  • Conduct mechanical system load calculations including heat gain, heat loss, and cooling load analysis using industry-standard software such as HAP (Hourly Analysis Program).
  • Validate system sizing and capacity to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of mechanical systems. Assist in the creation and analysis of 3D mechanical models using Revit MEP or similar BIM software.
  • Provide complete design layouts for mechanical ductworks, chilled water and refrigerant piping systems, supports, hangers, and custom equipment configurations. Prepare detailed sections and isometric views to support installation and fabrication.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify conditions and gather data for design verification. Collaborate with project engineers and site teams to address design issues, recommend suitable HVAC systems, and ensure constructability.
  • Provide technical evaluation and guidance during procurement and construction stages to ensure adherence to design intent. Ensure all designs meet local and international codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.) and project-specific technical specifications.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Must be a licensed engineer (preferred but not required depending on project needs).
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of relevant work experience in mechanical design, preferably in HVAC or building services engineering.
  • Must be open to fieldwork if needed, and willing to report in Alabang Office.
