Job Summary

The Java Technical Lead (Software Factory Section Head) is responsible for managing software development capacity, overseeing technical excellence, and ensuring successful deployment of software developers to meet project demands. This role requires both hands-on leadership in Java development and strategic management of developer resources and capability-building programs.

You will assess technical requirements, lead design and code reviews, and ensure all software solutions meet organizational standards while supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment of project resource requirements as requested by Business Relationship Account Managers.
  • Identify, assign, and deploy the appropriate Software Developers to active and upcoming projects.
  • Review and validate solution documents prepared by Solution Architects to ensure alignment with technical and architectural standards.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design validation, and defect management oversight.
  • Monitor the performance of internal and external developers, addressing technical and operational challenges as they arise.
  • Prepare and maintain capacity status reports to track developer allocation and skill utilization.
  • Lead personnel management activities, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance appraisals.
  • Develop and implement upskilling and cross-skilling programs to align team competencies with project pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, solution architects, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Strong experience in Java development, including frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs.
  • Proficient in Angular or similar front-end technologies.
  • Expertise in JSON, Web Services (SOAP/REST), and API integrations.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, SDLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in technical design review, code inspection, and defect management.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills for managing cross-functional development teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in a technical lead or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in Java-based enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead development teams, handle resource planning, and drive quality software delivery.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Working Arrangement:

Full onsite, Monday to Friday
