Delivery Driver

Job Summary

Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe delivery of DDC's products and goods to a customer on a scheduled time, date, and to a prescribed area within a given period of time. He also serves as a human link between the customer and DDC, provides driving services to the company, and assists the Salesman and Delivery Helper in the delivery of products to the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational efficiency and effectiveness

Knowledge of all delivery routes and alternate routes,

Ensures the organized loading and unloading of stocks in and from the vehicle, in accordance with the company-mandated procedures,

Implements all required company directives and other matters that would improve delivery procedure,

Ensures that all deliveries must be on schedule,

Ensures the organized loading and unloading of stocks to and from the delivery vehicle,

Provides optimal customer service to both internal and external customer, and

Maintains a high standard of delivery services;

Sales Service

Assists the Salesman and Delivery Helper in the delivery of products to different customers,

In the absence of the Salesman, works together with the Delivery Helper to ensure that all orders are accounted for, received and acknowledged by the customer in accordance to the Invoice,

Assist the Delivery Crew in the retrieval of expiry products and returns upon delivery (RUDs);

Maintain Safety, Security and Integrity

Keeps the vehicle in good condition, cleans inside and outside by conducting daily routine check-up,

Ensures the roadworthiness of the vehicle by following all safety policies and procedures imposed by the management particularly the strict observance of the Delivery Vehicle Inspection Checklist before departing,

Understands and memorizes delivery routes,

Drives the delivery vehicle properly by abiding by the traffic rules and regulations in the process of delivering the products and goods to the different customer,

Ensures the safety of the passengers and products inside the vehicle,

Ensures the safe delivery of the products without any delay or damage,

Treats all personnel, customers, and others with the policy of respect in mind,

Reports to the Supervisor in-charge any abnormal observation of the vehicle's performance that might cause malfunction, injury, and damage to products and passengers,

In case of emergency and in coordination with Supervisor in-charge, conducts minor troubleshooting and repair to the delivery vehicle,

Keeps the parking ground, dispatch, and surrounding perimeter clean at all times by abiding by the cleaning schedule,

Assists in the Pick and Pack area while waiting for the completion of loading,

Always observes proper decorum and corporate image, in and out of the office; and

Others

Supports the Asst. Operations Manager and Admin. & Operations Manager in developing programs, policies and procedures relative to the improvement of the Department and its services;

Abides by the company rules and regulations implemented with regards to policies and procedures, quality management, and in the Employee's Handbook; and

Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Asst. Operations Manager and Admin. & Operations Manager.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Needed for the Job)

Educational Requirements

At least a High School Graduate

Competency

Has experience working in a distribution company

With professional driver's license restriction A, B, C

Essentials

Ability to work under work pressure

Ability to work in long work hours.

Desirable

Demonstrates attention to details and accuracy of work
