Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead client engagements or components of larger projects. This role requires a strong understanding of Australian taxation and accounting standards, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will also contribute directly to client work, mentor junior team members, and support the growth and development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more client engagements or parts of large-scale projects.
  • Deliver high-quality work and ensure projects meet financial targets (realisation, revenue, and profitability).
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff.
  • Support day-to-day team management, including giving constructive feedback and helping with performance development.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including networking and client relationship management.
  • Begin to take on people development responsibilities.
  • Encourage collaboration across teams and share knowledge within the practice.
  • Stay up to date with industry changes and help implement innovative service delivery solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–5 years' experience in a tax consulting or advisory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
  • CA or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification.
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex tax concepts clearly—both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident in presenting to clients and internal teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to embrace change and contribute to innovation.
