The Opportunity
The Customer Support Lead Applications Engineer at Allegro MicroSystems will be responsible for providing expert-level technical guidance and support to our global customers, field application engineers (FAEs), and sales teams, particularly for highly complex and escalated issues. This role involves leading problem resolution efforts, mentoring junior applications engineers, strategically influencing product roadmaps based on customer insights, and ensuring best-in-class customer satisfaction. The Lead Applications Engineer will leverage deep technical knowledge of Allegro's innovative sensing and power solutions to support customers from design-in through production, contributing directly to Allegro's mission of leading the world toward a safer, more sustainable, and autonomous future.
What You Will Do
- Provide systems and application engineering support to customers working with our sales and field applications engineers
- Work with other application engineers to develop collateral to outline the value proposition and use of our products in customer products/applications
- Focus on the No Touch Customer Journey (online engagement and support) to deliver superior customer outcomes and customer experience
- Perform teardowns of customer products to gain better understanding of customer application requirements and develop system level knowledge
- Champion the generation of technical notes, application notes, simulation tools, demonstration platforms and hardware reference designs required to make customer evaluation and development with our products easy and simple.
- Interact with and provide guidance to product marketing and technical teams to create differentiated products and solutions for the target markets
- Assist with special projects, corporate events, tradeshows, webinar, etc.
- Focus on execution and results with a high standard for performance
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and voltage and current meters
- Ability to design and build basic hardware such as printed circuit boards, data acquisition systems, custom cables as well as hand soldered application boards
- Not mandatory but desirable to have high voltage laboratory experience
- Programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++
- Clear written and verbal communications skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Experience developing partner networks and/or development communities
