BASIC FUNCTIONS

The BSD Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities in the fintech and electronic money issuance (EMI) sector. The role combines sales execution, client relationship management, and strategic partnership building while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Revenue Generation
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, pitching, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Lead sales presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling to meet client needs.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Develop pricing models and commercial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Oversee account management to drive upselling, renewals, and long-term client retention.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance updates to senior management.
  • Develop the assigned segments or areas for new and existing accounts for revenue growth and transaction volume.
  • Business Development & Strategic Growth
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new market opportunities within fintech, EMI, payments, and financial services.
  • Build strategic partnerships with banks, cooperatives, payment processors, and fintech companies.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Compliance teams to launch new services and expand market reach.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback reviews to identify growth trends and opportunities.
  • Represent the company in industry events, forums, and networking opportunities to strengthen brand presence.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all sales and partnership activities comply with BSP regulations, AMLA, and Data Privacy laws.
  • Conduct due diligence for new clients, partners, and business deals.
  • Identify Client Risk based on the compliance risk assessment guidelines.
  • Reporting & Team Collaboration
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, market analysis, and pipeline updates.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure smooth execution of deals.
  • Mentor junior sales or business development staff to strengthen the team's capability.

5. Partner Building

  • Initiate and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients, banks, fintech companies, and payment service providers.
  • Negotiate and close partnership agreements aligned with growth objectives.
  • Oversee smooth onboarding and integration processes for new partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and partners, ensuring alignment with their business needs.

6. Sales & Pipeline Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Lead sales presentations, product demos, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper deal execution and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts.

7. Product & Market Expansion

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Compliance teams to design and launch new services.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance customer experience and adoption of fintech solutions.
  • Support expansion initiatives such as e-wallet services, payment gateways, and remittance networks.

OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)

Objective 1: Drive sustainable revenue growth through effective sales leadership

Key Results Area (KR)

  • KR1: Achieve at least 100% of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • KR2: Maintain a sales pipeline with at least 3x coverage of quarterly revenue targets.
  • KR3: Secure X new client deals and Y upsell/renewal contracts per quarter.
  • KR4: Provide 95%+ accuracy in monthly sales forecasts submitted to management.

Objective 2: Expand market presence and strategic partnerships in fintech and financial services

Key Results Area (KR)

  • KR1: Establish at least 5 new strategic partnerships (banks, coops, fintechs, PSPs) within 12 months.
  • KR2: Participate in a minimum of 6 industry events/forums annually to strengthen brand presence.
  • KR3: Launch 2 new services/solutions in collaboration with Product & Marketing by year-end.
  • KR4: Generate at least 20% of new revenue from partnerships and newly developed segments.

Objective 3: Ensure compliance and mitigate risks in all sales and partnership activities

Key Results Area (KR)

  • KR1: Conduct 100% compliance and due diligence checks on all new clients and partners.
  • KR2: Achieve zero regulatory penalties related to BSP, AMLA, and Data Privacy in partnership deals.
  • KR3: Train the sales team on compliance standards with 100% attendance and certification.

Objective 4: Build strong client and partner relationships for long-term retention and growth

Key Results Area (KR)

  • KR1: Maintain a 90%+ client retention rate through renewals and upselling.
  • KR2: Ensure 100% onboarding success rate for new partners with smooth integration.
  • KR3: Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with top 10 key accounts and partners.
  • KR4: Achieve client NPS score of 8+ across assigned accounts.

Objective 5: Strengthen reporting, collaboration, and team development

Key Results Area (KR)

  • KR1: Deliver monthly sales reports and market analysis on time with actionable insights.
  • KR2: Mentor and upskill at least 2 junior sales staff with measurable performance improvement.
  • KR3: Improve cross-functional collaboration score to 85%+ in internal feedback surveys.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in sales and business development within fintech, EMI, payments, or financial services.
  • Proven success in both direct sales (revenue generation) and business development (partnerships/strategic growth).
  • Strong knowledge of digital payments, e-wallets, remittance systems, and electronic money issuance.
  • Established network within banks, cooperatives, microfinance, government agencies, SMEs, payment providers, and fintech ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Familiarity with BSP regulations, AMLA compliance, and data privacy standards.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactical sales activities.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an advantage.
