We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and construction of food processing and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial or food-grade facility projects and a strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, sanitation requirements, and regulatory compliance in the food industry. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure infrastructure, site development, and building systems meet performance, hygiene, safety, and durability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Planning & Design:
Develop and review site layout plans including grading, drainage, utilities, access roads, and parking, with consideration for food safety zoning and traffic flow (people, raw materials, waste, etc.).
- Evaluate geotechnical data and site conditions to ensure suitability for construction.
Structural Engineering:
Design structural elements (foundations, floors, walls, platforms) that meet load requirements, environmental conditions, and hygiene standards.
- Ensure materials and construction techniques are compliant with food facility best practices (e.g., corrosion resistance, cleanability).
Regulatory & Code Compliance:
Ensure designs comply with local building codes, food industry standards (e.g., FDA, GMP), and health/safety regulations.
- Participate in permitting and regulatory approval processes.
Project Coordination:
Work closely with architects, process engineers, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) teams, and contractors during all project phases.
- Support construction oversight, resolve on-site engineering issues, and ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
Sustainability & Efficiency:
Integrate environmentally responsible and energy-efficient solutions into designs (e.g., water management, heat recovery systems, material selection).
- Help optimize facility layouts for operational efficiency and sanitation.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Maintain project documentation and provide updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Work experience in industrial/civil engineering, preferably with food or beverage facility projects.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, FDA, or other food facility design standards.
- Proficient in CAD and other project management software.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, site development, and structural systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferrably residing in Bulacan
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with food-grade sanitary design and zoning (clean/dirty separation).
- Understanding of utility coordination (wastewater, steam, chilled water, etc.).
