JOB TITLE: Speedboat Captain / Tour Boat Captain

DEPARTMENT: Marina / Transportation / Tours & Activities

LOCATION: Matinloc Island Resort, El Nido, Palawan

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Speedboat Captain / Tour Boat Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the resort's boats, including speedboats for transfers and tour boats for island activities. The role ensures guest safety, comfort, and satisfaction through proper navigation, vessel maintenance, and professional service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate resort vessels for guest transfers, island tours, supply runs, and emergency trips.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers by strictly following maritime safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of boats, equipment, and safety gear.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions and adjust routes or schedules when needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and proper functioning of all assigned vessels.
• Assist guests during boarding, disembarking, and during water activities when required.
• Provide basic tour information when operating tour boats.
• Coordinate closely with the Marina Supervisor and Activity Team regarding schedules and guest movements.
• Record trip logs, fuel consumption, and report maintenance or mechanical issues immediately.
• Follow all resort policies, environmental guidelines, and Philippine maritime regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid MARINA license appropriate for vessel operation (Speedboat Operator / Boat Captain).
• At least 2 years of experience operating speedboats or tour boats.
• Strong knowledge of maritime safety rules and emergency procedures.
• Physically fit and able to work flexible schedules.
• Good communication skills and ability to assist and interact with guests.
• Experience in El Nido or similar tourist destinations is an advantage.
