Team Lead, General Ledger

POSITION TITLE: LEAD - GENERAL LEDGER
REPORTING TO: Manager - General Ledger
LOCATION: Cebu, Philippines
Summary Description:
Working with an emerging shared services organization, the General Ledger Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a Dover business segment's processing of general ledger transactions. While managing a small team of accountants, this role is responsible for investigating and correcting escalated issues while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators. This position reports to the GL Manager and is based in Cebu, Philippines.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manages and supervises team of accountants in performing a variety of general ledger processes

• Reviews and approves journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Coaches individual performance and career management

• Measures team performance in relation to organizational goals

• Coordinates and engages with key stakeholders across the shared service group

• Partnering with the General Ledger Manager to support strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and other special projects

• Delegates tasks and assignments to accountants

• Performs consolidations and process streamlining

• Performs journal entry tracker review and analysis

• Monitors and approves team's timekeeping and attendance scheduling

• Provides audit support, both internal and external
Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management Accounting; CPA preferred

• Previous experience in general accounting, with exposure to:
o US GAAP and IFRS
o Fixed Asset, Cash Management and Intercompany Accounting

• Experienced with major ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.); Oracle preferred

• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (i.e. basic to complex formulas, pivoting, graphs and charts, Macro Excel is a plus)

• Six-sigma trained is a plus

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications (including SharePoint and Web-based applications)
