Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm QLD, AU Time or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM PH Time

Holiday to follow: QLD, AU Holidays

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced draftsperson to join our team, specialising in residential and commercial projects across Australia. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating detailed technical drawings and plans, from client briefs. This role requires a high level of accuracy, a strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

· Produce detailed working drawings and construction documentation for a range of residential and commercial projects, from initial concept through to 'as-built' stages.

· Work closely with architects, engineers, building designers, and project managers to translate preliminary designs into comprehensive technical plans.

· Apply the National Construction Code (NCC) and other relevant Australian standards and building regulations to all documentation.

· Review and revise drawings based on feedback from the project team, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

· Prepare and update project documentation packages, including material schedules, window and door schedules, and finish schedules.

· Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior drafting staff, ensuring consistency and quality across all project deliverables.

· Liaise with external stakeholders such as surveyors, builders, and suppliers to resolve technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.

· Conduct site visits as required to gather information, take measurements, and verify design accuracy during construction.

· Maintain and manage project drawing files, ensuring proper version control and archiving.

Required skills and qualifications

· A diploma or advanced diploma in building design, architectural drafting, or a related field.

· Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a draftsperson in the Australian residential and/or commercial building industry.

· High-level proficiency in ArchiCAD drafting software.

· Demonstrated knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian standards, and local building regulations.

· Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various team members and stakeholders.

· Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
