Job Summary:

The SOC Level 2 Analyst investigates and responds to escalated incidents, conducts root cause analysis, and ensures accurate resolution. This role validates alerts, mentors L1 analysts, and collaborates with IT/security teams to improve detection and response processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity operations role
  • Strong skills in SIEM analysis, log review, and network traffic investigation
  • Understanding of authentication, access controls, and malware detection
  • Experience with incident categorization, root cause analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledge of attack techniques, threat vectors, cryptography fundamentals
  • Ability to remain calm and analytical under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and EDR platforms
  • Perform deep-dive investigations and escalate to L3 as required
  • Act as SPOC during major incidents, engage with CSIRT/external teams
  • Conduct retroactive threat hunting using IoCs
  • Mentor L1 analysts and perform QA reviews of their work
  • Maintain accurate documentation, playbooks, and shift handovers
  • Support detection tuning and collaborate on new detection rules/use cases
  • Generate reports and communicate incident findings to stakeholders
