Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Research and Development Specialist to join our Personal Care and Home Care R&D Team. This role is responsible for driving product development initiatives—from formulation and laboratory testing to documentation and technology transfer. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, hands-on laboratory experience, and a solid understanding of regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform product research, development, formulation, and costing
  • Evaluate and qualify alternative raw materials
  • Consolidate, document, and maintain all laboratory research and production-related documentation
  • Complete and maintain SAP transactions accurately
  • Research, develop, and/or improve products to meet market trends and customer demands
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, Food Safety, HACCP, and FSSC protocols
  • Update raw material pricing for product costing
  • Conduct sensory evaluations, laboratory analyses, shelf-life testing, and stability studies
  • Prepare product standards and specifications for all new products
  • Perform technology transfer from laboratory scale to pilot and production scale
  • Conduct product benchmarking and application tests
  • Analyze sales data and client requests to create products that meet desired specifications
  • Initiate requisition of materials needed for product development

Educational Requirements: (Applicants must hold a degree in):

  • BS Chemistry
  • BS Chemical Engineering
  • BS Pharmacy / Industrial Pharmacy
  • Or other related courses (A professional license and/or a master's degree is an advantage)

Experience Requirements:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in a pharmaceutical, food, personal care, or home care manufacturing laboratory.

Skills Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and basic office equipment
  • Strong laboratory skills and familiarity with laboratory/testing tools
  • Proven experience in Research and Development
  • Knowledge of cGMP, ISO principles, and quality systems
