Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and specifications.
  • Cut, chop, slice, and dice ingredients for cooking.
  • Prepare stocks, sauces, soups, and other basic kitchen items as directed.

Cooking and Food Service:

  • Assist chefs and cooks in cooking and plating food.
  • Ensure dishes are prepared on time and served at the correct temperature.
  • Follow instructions and cooking procedures to deliver consistent quality.

Kitchen Cleanliness and Hygiene:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking tools.
  • Ensure the kitchen complies with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Dispose of trash and waste properly and keep the kitchen area neat.

Stock Management:

  • Assist in receiving deliveries and storing ingredients properly.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues to the kitchen supervisor or manager.
  • Ensure ingredients and supplies are used efficiently to minimize waste.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during meal preparation and service.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Be willing to take on various tasks as needed in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree, 2 years course or equivalent; culinary training is a plus but not required.
  • Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and cleanliness practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects (up to 25 kg).
  • A fast-paced and energetic work environment.
  • Flexible working hours based on restaurant needs.
  • Willing to work in Diliman Q.C.
