Summary:

Accounting Duties

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, preparing and recording transactions, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
  • Accounts Management: Oversee and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to prepare budgets and financial forecasts, and conduct variance analysis by comparing actual results to budgeted figures.
Financial Analysis Duties
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and non-financial data to identify trends, evaluate business performance, and spot areas for improvement.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and support strategic planning.
  • Investment and Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential investments, assess financial risks, and provide data-driven recommendations to management to aid in decision-making.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key financial metrics and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations that improve business performance and profitability.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Master's degree or a professional certification like a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus
  • Experience in full-cycle accounting and financial modeling is often a key requirement.

Technical and Soft Skills

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to critically evaluate complex data, identify discrepancies, and provide strategic solutions.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and reports.
  • Proficiency in Software: Expertise in Microsoft Excel (for advanced functions and financial modeling) and experience with accounting and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is essential.
