3D Animator / Visualization Specialist

We are looking for a 3D Animator / Visualization Specialist who can take on industrial/arch-vis projects from start to finish. Our ideal candidate would be competent in several disciplines such as 3D modelling, animation, and video editing. They will take on a variety of projects in the mining and infrastructure space and be excited to learn and grow with the team

This role would suit a 3D animator of intermediate skill or above, who is passionate about the work they do and always looking to improve. You'll be situated in our Manila office, but working with our Australia-based animation team.

What you'll be doing

You'll work with our Animation team and learn our processes, creating realistic renders and animations of CAD models using Maya, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine 5, and the Adobe CC suite. You'll also be producing internal content such as event videos, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and internal 3D animations.

This will involve:

• Processing industrial CAD models (fixing mesh issues, optimisation, etc.)
• Modelling additional content and creating/refining realistic materials
• Animating machinery, cameras, vehicles, materials and more
• Video editing and image editing (editing renders/footage to music, compositing effects)
• Motion graphics and design for video overlays, logos, labels, etc.
• Receiving feedback on your work, writing notes and task lists (as well as providing feedback)
• Following internal procedures and task lists
• Managing your own projects, ensuring you hit deadlines and asking for help as needed
• Making video calls to team members to update on progress and for learning new techniques
• Researching and learning about various industry processes to produce accurate animations

Our ideal candidate

• Fluent in English with great communication, writing, and reading comprehension skills
• A fast learner who grasps concepts and techniques quickly
• Follows instructions without supervision and is confident enough to ask for help
• Great attention to detail, will pick up on mistakes and inconsistencies
• Uses time effectively and can work under pressure
• Experienced in the following programs:
• Unreal Engine 4/5
• Maya
• Autodesk 3ds Max
• Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Decently skilled in the following disciplines:
• Video editing, including basic audio editing such as matching music to video
• Motion graphics and graphic design (such as graphical overlays, text, logos, and titles)
• Image editing and compositing
• Material & texture design for 3D rendering
• Has a showreel that demonstrates your abilities or standalone examples of work
• Has a tertiary qualification in animation, 3D art, or similar

Other desirable skills

If there's something that you're great at or passionate about, let us know – we're always looking for new ways to expand the capabilities of the team. If you have experience or interest in any of the following, we'd love to hear about it:

• Experience in other 3D applications such as Unity or Blender
• Programming or scripting (Maxscript, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python, Unreal-Blueprints)
• 3D Match moving and 2D tracking for compositing effects
• Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
• Design & engineering software (Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Advance Steel, Tekla)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and CAD drawings
• Character modelling and animation, crowd simulations
• Web development, especially media & graphical , interactive media)
• Audio editing & production (reducing noise, editing voice overs, editing music to video)
• Photography
• Photogrammetry and point cloud processing
• Skills in other creative/design industries (writing, painting, interior decorating etc.)
