Key Responsibilities

  • Repair:Diagnosing electrical issues using various testing devices, such as ammeters and voltmeters, and repairing or replacing faulty wiring, equipment, and components.
  • System Inspection:Conducting thorough inspections of electrical systems, including transformers and circuit breakers, to identify defects or hazards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation:Reading and understanding blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to plan and execute electrical installations.
  • Safety and Compliance:Adhering to all state and local building codes, safety regulations (like the National Electrical Code), and working to mitigate hazards.
  • Documentation:Completing work orders, documenting repairs, and recording materials used for record-keeping.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Technical Skills:Proficiently using a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing equipment.
  • Problem-Solving:Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems efficiently and effectively.
