The Role:
The Quantity Surveyor will support project delivery from a construction perspective.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Identify commercial risks and opportunities; conduct value engineering.
· Prepare and manage material procurement schedules.
· Maintain a culture of contractual awareness and ensure compliance with contracts.
· Generate internal cost/value reports for management.
· Review and update risk registers and variation trackers monthly.
· Attend management meetings to report on commercial issues.
· Oversee subcontractor procurement and account reviews.
· Liaise with the accounts department and review supplier requisitions.
· Manage subcontractor documentation and negotiate budgets for project variations.
· Ensure accuracy of project costs and resolve any queries.
· Manage relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
· Process payments and maintain cost/value reconciliations.
· Support junior surveyors' development.
· Monitor project costs to maintain budgets and identify revenue opportunities.
· Advise on contractual matters and manage claims.
· Assist with cash management and correspondence.
· Prepare and review monthly cost reports and final accounts for subcontractors.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
· Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
· Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite essential.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Confident, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strategic mindset and excellent relationship management skills.
