Finance Analyst

Job Summary

The Finance Analyst will analyze financial and operational data related to trucking activities, including trip costs, fuel consumption, fleet profitability, and route efficiency. The role supports management in making informed decisions by preparing accurate reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses specific to logistics and transport operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational costs (fuel, tolls, repairs, tires, maintenance, labor, and trip expenses).
• Prepare trip profitability reports per unit, route, or customer account.
• Track and evaluate fleet performance, utilization rates, and cost-per-trip metrics.
• Monitor fuel consumption and detect irregularities or inefficiencies.
• Assist in preparing operational budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Develop financial models for pricing, rate proposals, and new lanes.
• Evaluate vendor invoices (fuel, repairs, tires, parts) for accuracy and cost control.
• Support audit and compliance requirements related to trucking operations.
• Prepare dashboards and KPI reports (e.g., cost per km, revenue per truck, downtime cost).
• Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and maintenance teams to gather data and validate records.
• Recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve fleet profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 1–3 years experience as a Finance Analyst, Cost Analyst, or similar role (logistics or trucking background is an advantage).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, especially in operational and cost analysis.
• Proficient in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards).
• Knowledge of trucking operations, dispatch processes, and fleet cost components is a plus.
• Experience with accounting systems or transport management systems (TMS) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
