Summary of Functions:

Yard Mechanics are skilled technicians tasked with executing all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic work within the central yard. He is also deployed for critical onsite jobs requiring urgent technical response. The role demands deep diagnostic capabilities, inventory awareness, and precision execution of repair and replacement work orders .

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform full-cycle diagnostics and repairs in the yard

  2. Inspect mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems for service needs

  3. Execute preventive maintenance on idle or returning equipment

  4. Provide immediate technical response to onsite emergency repair calls

  5. Document repair tasks using job cards and inspection logs

  6. Maintain inventory tracking for tools and consumables used

  7. Ensure compliance with safety and diagnostic SOPs

  8. Collaborate with Engineers to review and troubleshoot failed units

  9. Coordinate with Procurement for parts request and job order closure

  10. Support weekly yard operations and asset readiness programs

Qualifications:

Minimum Educational Attainment / Course : Technical-Vocational Certificate or Diploma inAutomotive, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology

Special Training / Qualifications: Hydraulic systems, diagnostics tools, welding, electrical wiring, tool management, and troubleshooting certifications
