Accounting Manager

Makati City, National Capital Region, Philippines BMI Finance Corp. Full time ₱900,000 - ₱1,200,000 per year

The ideal candidate will provide strategic and financial guidance and to develop necessary policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management and control of the company's business.

Responsibilities

Financial Operation

  • Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly and year-enc closings, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Review and approve trial balances to ensure accuracy and proper reconciliations.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgets/forecasts, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.

Transaction Reviews and Authorization

  • Authorize journal entries posted in the accounting system to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Check and review payment vouchers and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Review and ensure compliance with tax returns, filings and regulatory requirements (e.g. BIR Reporting)
  • Provide support and coordination for BIR tax audits and cases, including preparation of necessary documentation.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and timely submission of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reports.
  • Prepare and present management reports, financial dashboards, and key performance metrics to Management and Board of Directors.

Process Improvement and Internal Controls

  • Develop and maintain accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization's financial assets.

Compliance and Audit Support

  • Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring all requested information is provided.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g. GAAP, IFRS) and company policies.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training and performance evaluations.
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor workloads and ensure team adherence to deadlines and standards.
  • Other related duties that may be assigned by the COO/Board Members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • must have held a managerial role for at least 3 years.
  • Skilled in SEC, BIR and other local government compliance, regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory rules and general compliance in financial institution is an advantage.
