Job Summary:

The House Detective is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and order within the hotel or resort premises. The role involves monitoring guest areas, investigating incidents, and preventing theft, fraud, and other unlawful acts to ensure the protection of guests, employees, and property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections in guest areas, back-of-house, and other hotel premises.
  • Monitor guest and staff activities discreetly to prevent theft, vandalism, or security breaches.
  • Investigate reports of loss, theft, or suspicious activity and submit incident reports promptly.
  • Coordinate with local authorities or management in case of emergencies or serious incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures of the hotel.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive cases.
  • Support crowd control and access management during events or peak periods.
  • Assist in emergency response, evacuation procedures, and first aid if needed.
  • Record and maintain security logs and reports accurately.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Security Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school or vocational graduate; a degree in Criminology or related field is an advantage.
  • Preferably with experience in security, law enforcement, or hotel safety operations.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, investigation techniques, and report writing.
  • Physically fit, alert, and observant.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
