LICENSED FORESTER (WATERSHED MANAGEMENT)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Manages the day-to-day activities of the unit/team

2.Participates in the development of and communication of company policies and guidelines to direct reports for implementation

3.Executes management policies; appoints, disciplines or dismisses subordinate employees (hires and fires)

4.Monitors the implementation of all watershed protection, preservation and rehabilitation programs

5.Leads the development of watershed management plan

6.Coordinates with partners from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Manila Water Company Inc. and other agencies regarding the projects of the watershed management council

7.Forges partnerships with different government agencies and private companies to contribute in the implementation of the National Greening Program

8.Manage the preparation of all documents needed to secure Tree Cutting/Balling Permits

9.Ensures that conditions stated in the Tree Cutting/Balling Permit are complied with

10.Spearheads the conduct of clean-up of waterways activities

11.Participates in the discussion with DENR and local government units (LGU) on the establishment and implementation of Water Quality Management Areas (WQMA) projects and activities

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES

Graduate of four (4) year course, related to Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering

With at least forty (40) hours of training on watershed management, forest protection, and sustainability

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Proficient in MS Office

Must have a background on different environmental/forestry laws

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Licensed driver is an advantage
