The PH Center of Excellence site supports international lines of business including actuarial, retirement, risk, and benefits consulting, delivering high-quality analytical, technical, and advisory services.

This role will support the
UK Pensions & Employee Benefits
portfolio, providing actuarial and analytical services to UK-based consultants and clients.

About the Role

The Actuarial Analyst will deliver actuarial analysis, valuations, modelling, and reporting for
UK Defined Benefit (DB)
and
Defined Contribution (DC)
pension schemes, as well as broader employee benefits projects. Depending on experience, responsibilities may range from technical delivery and data processing to leading projects, reviewing work, and client-facing support.

The position is
open to multiple seniority levels, from entry-level associates to experienced managers.

This position is open for remote work for highly qualified candidates who work outside of Greater Manila Area (GMA).

Responsibilities

For All Levels:

  • Perform actuarial valuations for UK DB pension schemes under various standards (Technical Provisions, IAS 19, FRS 102, buy-out estimates, etc.).
  • Prepare and analyze datasets, benefit calculations, and liability estimates.
  • Produce high-quality actuarial reports, summaries, and presentations for consultants and clients.
  • Work with UK-based teams on pensions modeling, funding calculations, and contribution projections.
  • Support employee benefits and risk analysis projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements, professional standards, and internal quality processes.

Additional Responsibilities by Level:

Associate / Junior Analyst:

  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
  • Carry out routine calculations and prepare workpapers.
  • Support senior analysts in model development and reporting.

Mid-Level / Senior Analyst:

  • Take ownership of assigned actuarial workstreams.
  • Review work of junior analysts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist consultants in preparing funding strategies and actuarial advice.
  • Contribute to automation, process improvement, and tool enhancement.

SME (Subject Matter Expert):

  • Serve as technical reference for UK pensions, valuation methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead complex actuarial modelling, assumption setting analysis, and experience investigations.
  • Mentor and upskill junior analysts.

Manager Level:

  • Manage a team of actuarial analysts supporting UK pensions projects.
  • Oversee workflow, quality assurance, resource allocation, and project delivery.
  • Coordinate directly with UK consultants and clients on deliverables and timelines.
  • Drive capability-building, best practices, and team development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with actuarial tools (e.g., ProVal, PFaroe, MoSes, R, Python) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with international teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs.

Preferred / Advantageous:

  • Experience in UK pensions consulting or UK DB/DC actuarial work.
  • Understanding of UK pension regulations (TPR requirements, scheme funding, IAS 19, FRS 102).
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials (UK
    IFoA: FIA/FFA
    ) is a strong advantage.
  • Philippine actuarial exams (AASP/FASP) or SOA/CAS exam progress may be considered as equivalent.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising (for senior/manager roles).
