Position Overview:

The Roving Cook will be assigned to various branches as a relief cook and will be responsible for ensuring that cooking operations run smoothly in the absence of regular staff. This role includes training new kitchen helpers, overseeing proper cooking procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality across all visited outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relieving Duties
    : Provide cooking support at different branches as needed, ensuring operations continue seamlessly during staff absences or peak periods.
  • Training
    : Train and mentor newly hired kitchen helpers, ensuring they are familiar with proper kitchen operations, safety protocols, and food preparation techniques.
  • Procedure Oversight
    : Regularly check and ensure that proper cooking procedures and food safety standards are being followed in the kitchens of assigned branches.
  • Food Preparation
    : Cook and prepare food products according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in quality and taste.
  • Collaboration
    : Work closely with branch managers and kitchen teams to address operational concerns and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Inventory Monitoring
    : Assist in monitoring food inventory, ensuring that necessary ingredients are available and properly stored.
  • Quality Control
    : Ensure that the quality of food produced meets company standards and customer expectations.
  • Safety Compliance
    : Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook, preferably with exposure to different kitchen environments.
  • Knowledge of proper cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to train and guide others in food preparation and kitchen protocols.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in various branches as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in food quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
