Working with automated systems and manual procedures, the Continuity Switcher ensures all content, including live feeds, recorded programs, commercial breaks, and other broadcast elements, are transmitted on time and without technical issues. The role requires both technical proficiency and the ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during broadcast.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Operate and monitor broadcast automation systems (e.g., Imagine, Vector) to ensure smooth and timely playout of scheduled content.


• Ensure the accurate airing of all programming elements, including commercials, graphics, plugs, and live feeds.


• Manage and cue media content, seamlessly switching between pre-recorded files, live broadcasts, and advertisements.


• Continuously monitor audio, video, and graphics quality to maintain consistent broadcast output.


• Respond promptly to system failures or technical issues by manually intervening and implementing backup solutions.


• Handle on-air emergencies by swiftly switching to alternate content or backup systems.


• Maintain detailed logs of aired content, including timestamps, content identification, and any technical anomalies.


• Collaborate closely with programming, engineering, and traffic teams to ensure proper scheduling and transmission of content.

EDUCATION


• Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), or a related field.

EXPERIENCE


• At least 1 - 2 years relevant work experience in broadcast operations or playout automation.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS


• Proficient in broadcast automation systems (e.g., Imagine, Vector).


• Detail-oriented with multitasking ability in monitoring screens and signals.


• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in live broadcasts.


• Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


• Effective communicator and team collaborator.


• Basic troubleshooting skills in transmission and automation.


• Flexible with shifting schedules, including nights, weekends, and

holidays.
