Job Title: Trust Accountant
Work Arrangement: Onsite | Night Shift

About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Trust Accountant to manage benefit deductions and trust reporting for large divisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll and health & welfare benefit accounting, and a strong ability to manage data accurately under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare trust reports and manage payments for large or complex divisions

  • Support divisions with trust-related inquiries and processes

  • Review and validate data for total compensation statements

  • Assist with audits and prepare supporting trust fund reports

  • Take on team lead duties and assist with training of clerical staff

  • Manage document filing, retrieval, and daily mail distribution

  • Monitor and track benefits issues and ensure contract compliance

  • Process remittances for premium deductions to plan carriers and trust funds

  • Investigate discrepancies in Health & Welfare deductions

  • Develop proficiency with the PeopleSoft Payroll System

  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefit plans and fund contacts

  • Calculate retroactive rate adjustments when required

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years experience in payroll and/or health & welfare benefits accounting

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; fast and accurate in 10-key data entry

  • Organized and capable of prioritizing tasks independently

  • Reliable, ethical, and able to handle confidential data

  • Strong leadership potential and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Familiarity with payroll systems and standard payroll practices
