About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-obsessed Senior Data Engineer to join our Manila team. You'll take ownership of Snowflake data models, DBT transformations, and ETL/ELT workflows, making sure the business gets accurate, timely, and secure data. Expect to roll up your sleeves, optimize performance, and collaborate across teams to turn complex requirements into elegant data solutions.

Note: At Blueberry, moving with purpose means showing up, connecting, and building momentum together. This role is based onsite in Taguig, Manila, Monday to Friday, where the real magic happens.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Own the end-to-end design and optimization of Snowflake data warehouses and DBT transformations.
  • Refactor legacy models to improve performance and reduce cloud costs.
  • Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Airbyte, AWS DMS, and AWS services (Lambda, S3).
  • Implement data masking and security measures to safely share datasets with internal teams and external partners.
  • Create self-service data products and Power BI dashboards for cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures and resolve production issues with a "fix fast, fix right" mindset.
  • Establish best practices for testing, version control, CI/CD, and documentation.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability for compliance and reporting purposes.

Who We're Hoping to Find

  • 5+ years' experience designing and scaling data warehouses and pipelines.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake, DBT, and AWS (data modeling, incremental strategies, cloud).
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for scripting, API integration, and pipelines.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools like Airbyte or AWS DMS.
  • Familiarity with AWS ecosystem: Lambda, S3, IAM, and architecture best practices.
  • Understanding of data security, masking, and compliance.
  • Experience building reporting solutions in Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Comfortable with SaaS integrations, Git, and Jira.
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor mindset, willing to share knowledge, review code, and grow the team.

Extra Points if You Have

  • Background in Financial Services, Trading, or Banking.
  • Experience with risk-facing teams, LLMs, data visualization, containerization (Docker), or medallion architecture.
