Job Summary:

The Stockman is responsible for the proper handling, storage, and management of inventory within the branch. This includes receiving, organizing, and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the storage areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving and Storage:

  • Receive incoming deliveries and verify them against purchase orders or delivery receipts.
  • Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report to the supervisor immediately.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated areas, ensuring items are easy to locate and access.

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct regular stock checks and update inventory records.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure sufficient supply and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Assist in periodic inventory audits and reconciliations.

Order Preparation and Dispatching:

  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately based on delivery or sales requirements.
  • Coordinate with delivery personnel for the timely dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure proper documentation of outgoing stocks.

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
  • Ensure proper labeling and tagging of items for easy identification.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents, damages, or losses.

Customer Assistance:

  • Assist customers in locating items within the branch, if needed.
  • Provide support to branch sales staff in handling stock-related inquiries.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit daily or weekly inventory reports to the supervisor or branch manager.
  • Report damaged or expired items promptly for proper action.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management is a plus.
  • Experience in stock handling or warehouse management is preferred.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
