Job Summary
:

• Responsible for sustaining engineering and equipment engineering, including designing, developing, testing, and implementing processes for the ongoing production, tooling and fixtures for capacity and productivity improvements. Works closely with product development teams, until successful transfer into the company's manufacturing operations. Oversees the day-to-day work of employees and manages their perf0ormance and development. Develops, implements, and monitors projects, adheres to timelines, and budgets, procures capital equipment and tooling as required to support manufacturing efforts, and provides both technical and management leadership to maintain product functionality as well as cost efficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Critical problem-solving skills: ability to ask the right people, the right questions at the right time in the right way.
• Ensures that Manufacturing Engineering teams deliver the highest quality products using processes which consistently meet (or exceed) all applicable customer expectations; follows abides by company safety policies, practices, and procedures; and consistently meets company goals, objectives, and milestones.
• Oversees the day-to-day work of Manufacturing Engineering department employees and manages their performance and development by facilitating training and providing performance feedback and guidance.
• Integrates into cross-functional teams and cultivates a network of support (Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain) to facilitate completion of assignments, utilizing external resources as needed.
• Mediates group conflicts and resolves issues between team members.
• Participates in and leads continuous improvement activities and advanced problem-solving techniques.
• Works collaboratively with R&D, Quality and Production departments to design, develop, test, and implement processes, tooling, and fixtures.
• Collects data and analyze process performance and capabilities for company products, including new products and products already in production.
• Performs tolerance analyses for components, manufacturing materials, packaging, and supplies used for in-house processing.
• Leads effort to develop and maintain process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (pFMEAs) for new company processes.
• Identifies requirements, advises Operations management, prepares proposals and acquisition arrangements, and implements equipment and fixturing needed for development and manufacturing efforts.
• Develops and maintains documentation for design control, product configurations (e.g., bills-of-materials), and other Quality System requirements.
• Performs productivity and costing analyses (e.g., calculate direct labor & materials costs for new products, identify and implement cost reduction plans for existing products).
• High degree of adaptability; creative decision-making; and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Selecting and maintaining engineering tools and processes appropriate for supported programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Controls Engineering is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as Solidworks, CATIA, etc.
• Proficiency in drafting standards including GD&T, with an ability to generate/review engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills are critical.
• Ability to scale a team, scale prototyping, scale production.
• Deep experience in manufacturing engineering and production challenges
• Ability to lead a team to accomplish company goals in a fast pace, demanding, dynamic environment.
• Proficient in statistical analysis (process capability, CPK, DOE's, Normality, Hypothesis Testing).
• Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative problem solving and design thinking.
• Tooling and Equipment design a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and interact with employees of all levels.
• Proven track record of solving technical issues and quality improvements.
• Proficient in the use of ERB software such as SAP and Product Lifecycle Management software such as Agile

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing Engineering is preferred/directly related experience may be considered

Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience

Management Experience :

• 3+ years in management, lead or supervisor of engineers
