AUTO MECHANIC

Key Responsibilities

  • Parts Replacement: Repairing or replacing worn, defective, or broken parts and components.
  • Customer Service: Communicating with customers to explain vehicle issues, recommend necessary work, and provide estimated costs.
  • Record Keeping: Documenting all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles for accurate service histories.
  • Technological Advancement: Staying current with advancements in automotive technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles.

Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of how vehicles function and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in using both manual and computerized diagnostic tools.

AUTO ELECTRICIAN

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis: Inspect and test vehicle electrical systems to identify issues, such as wiring faults or malfunctioning electronic components.
  • Repair & Maintenance: Repair or replace defective electrical parts, such as ignition systems, lights, alternators, and electronic control units (ECUs).
  • Installation: Install new electrical components, accessories, and systems, including alarms, air conditioning, and anti-theft systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic software and tools to pinpoint and resolve complex electrical problems.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand the nature of their vehicle's electrical problems and provide estimated costs for repairs.
  • Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and that vehicles' electrical systems are safe and reliable.
  • Collaboration: Work with other mechanics and technicians to ensure overall vehicle functionality.
