Able Bodied Seaman

An Able-Bodied Seaman (AB) on an assist tug performs a range of critical tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, especially during docking, undocking, and maneuvering operations. Here are the primary duties and responsibilities:

Deck Operations:

1. Line Handling:

2. Handle mooring and tow lines during docking, undocking, and assisting operations.

3. Secure tow lines to other vessels and ensure proper attachment and tension.

4. Deck Maintenance:

6. Perform painting, chipping, and minor repairs to keep the tug in good condition.

7. Deck Equipment Operation:

Navigational Duties:

Qualifications:

• Marine Engineering or Marine Transportation graduate
• Experience in assist tug is an advantage but not mandatory
• With complete and valid documents
• Medically fit to work
