Responsibilities:
- Conduct Surveys: Perform field surveys using GPS and other precise instruments to collect data on points, elevations, distances, and contours of the land.
- Analyze Spatial Data: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping software to process, analyze, and interpret collected survey data.
- Create Maps and Models: Develop accurate topographic maps, property boundary plans, and other geospatial data to serve as foundational information for various projects.
- Establish Control and Boundaries: Establish geodetic control points and property lines for projects, ensuring legal and spatial accuracy.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with civil engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to provide essential surveying data.
- Maintain Equipment: Monitor, calibrate, and maintain surveying equipment to ensure its accuracy and functionality.
- Ensure Compliance: Verify that surveying work adheres to relevant industry standards, local regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Prepare Reports: Compile and present comprehensive reports, maps, and documentation of survey findings.
Tools and Technologies:
- GPS (Global Positioning System): A primary tool for determining accurate geographic positions and elevations.
- LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging): Used for creating high-resolution 3D models of the Earth's surface.
- GIS Software: For analyzing, managing, and visualizing spatial data.
- AutoCAD: A common software for drafting and design of survey results.
- Total Stations and Laser Scanners: Advanced surveying instruments for collecting precise data.
