Job Description
A Videographer/ Video Editor is responsible for conceptualizing, capturing, and editing video content for brand or product promotion purposes. They use a professional camera and it's equipment, and various editing software to create visual stories that attract and captivate the interest of audiences. A Videographer can work in different settings, including on set, on location, and for social media, corporate promotions, events, and documentaries.
Functions/Responsibilities
Conceptualizing: Coming up with detailed, creative, and engaging ideas for contents to promote the brand.
Communication: Interacting with others specifically the persons related to the video creation, video shoot and the persons within the company.
Setting-up and Shooting: Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment and preparing background film. This also includes defining the project, choosing location, selecting appropriate equipment, creating a storyboard, writing a script, and assisting talents.
Camera Operation: Oversees camera operations, including lens selection, camera movement, and framing.
Equipment management: Maintaining, cleaning and managing all videography related equipment.
Editing: Adding computer graphics, closed captioning, editing and putting special effects to footage after recording with the use of various video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci, etc.) to achieve the desired visual result.
Collaborating: Working with the creative teams and other departments to plan video shoots.
Research: Researching trends in the market.
Competencies:
- With at least one (1) year proven experience in videography.
- Can use and handle a professional camera and various related equipment.
- Strong portfolio.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of trends or popular things in multimedia and the internet.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills.
- Strategic and organizational skills.
- Updated on social media and current events.
- Can use various video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci).
- Can work in a fast paced environment and shifting schedule.
