Key Responsibilities:
1. Emergency Medical Response
  • Provide prompt first aid treatment to injured or ill employees on-site in accordance with approved first aid procedures and training.
  • Assess the severity of injuries and determine the need for further medical attention or emergency services.
  • Liaise with emergency medical services (EMS) and assist until professional help arrives.
2. First Aid Equipment & Station Management
  • Maintain and inspect first aid kits, stretchers, eyewash stations, and other emergency equipment to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Ensure that first aid stations are clearly marked, accessible, and fully stocked at all times.
  • Record and report all use of medical supplies for timely replenishment.
3. Recordkeeping & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents, injuries, and treatments administered on-site.
  • Assist the HSE team in completing incident reports, accident investigations, and legal documentation.
  • Report serious injuries to the HSE Manager immediately for escalation as per company policy.
4. Safety Support & Monitoring
  • Monitor high-risk work areas and provide support during hazardous tasks (e.g., hot work, working at height, excavation, lifting operations).
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and emergency drills.
  • Provide feedback on unsafe conditions or practices observed during first aid response or routine duties.
5. Health & Safety Promotion
  • Promote good hygiene, hydration, and general health practices among site workers, especially under extreme weather conditions.
  • Provide guidance on heat stress, fatigue, dehydration, or other job-related health risks.
  • Assist in wellness campaigns or health check-ups, if organized on-site.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Certified First Aider (valid certificate from a recognized body such as Red Cross or equivalent).
  • Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety practices in a construction environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions quickly in emergency situations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic recordkeeping and reporting skills.
  • Physically fit and able to assist in lifting or moving injured persons if necessary.

Education and Certifications:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid First Aid Certification (preferably including CPR and AED).
  • Additional safety-related training (e.g., Fire Warden, Emergency Response, H2S Awareness) is a plus.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience:
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably on construction or industrial sites.
  • Familiarity with local occupational health and safety laws and practices.

Working Conditions:
  • Site-based role with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and physical hazards.
  • May require working in shifts or during weekends depending on site activity.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
