The Bank Clerk / Customer Service Associate is responsible for delivering customer-focused frontline services. The role covers cash handling, processing of transactions, onboarding of new accounts, client risk profiling, and proactive participation in deposit generation and marketing efforts. The position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies while maintaining high service standards.

Candidates must hold a college degree to be considered for this position.

Prior cash handling experience is preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided.

Basic English proficiency is required for effective customer service interactions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Frontline Teller and Cash Handling Functions

  • Process daily banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, check encashments, bills payment, and loan payments.
  • Ensure accuracy in cash handling; balance cash position at the end of each day and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Safeguard cash, accountable forms, and documents in accordance with the Bank's policies and BSP regulations.
  • Maintain orderly and secure counter operations, ensuring that service standards and turnaround times are consistently met.

2. Customer Service and Client Assistance

  • Provide courteous and efficient service to walk-in clients and address inquiries regarding products, services, and general banking information.
  • Assist clients in resolving transaction concerns and coordinate with relevant units for escalated issues.
  • Promote a positive branch experience by building rapport and delivering excellent customer care.

3. New Account Opening and Onboarding

  • Conduct end-to-end account onboarding for deposit accounts, including data capture, verification of KYC documents, and ensuring completeness of forms.
  • Orient new clients on account features, digital services, and responsibilities as account holders.
  • Ensure all account opening activities are compliant with the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), KYC guidelines, and the Bank's internal policies.

4. Client Risk Profiling

  • Perform customer risk assessments in accordance with AML/KYC requirements, ensuring accurate classification of customers.
  • Validate source of funds, purpose of account, and expected transaction behavior.
  • Identify high-risk clients and coordinate for enhanced due diligence, when necessary.
  • Maintain updated and complete customer information records.

5. Marketing and Deposit Generation

  • Participate in the branch's marketing and business development initiatives to generate new accounts and increase deposit level.
  • Engage existing and potential clients by offering appropriate financial products based on their needs.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of marketing campaigns, community engagements, and client outreach activities.
  • Maintain a personal pipeline of prospective accounts and provide regular updates to Branch Management.

6. Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to all BSP regulations, internal policies, operational controls, and risk management guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit required reports related to teller operations, cash position, account onboarding, and marketing activities.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews by providing required documents and explanations.
