Solutions Developer C/C++

An Australia-based technology solutions company specializing in point-of-sale systems, payment solutions, and managed IT services for local and international clients.

Software Development

• Development and enhancement of the client's and client software products and services.
• Adhere to best practice software development and design principles.
• Display comfort with application development, scripting in various languages, aswell as caring about the performance of the applications.
• Maintain quality of code and test coverage ensuring functional and system requirements are met
• Utilize the DevOps and SCM tools to manage software development process.
• Deploy DevOps best practices are used to maintain a secure and up to date operational environment. This includes taking responsibility for the security of deliverables.
• Interpret specifications and produce functional and technical documentation.
• In the absence of clear specifications, research and gain clarity on the requirements to enable functional and technical documentation to be produced.
• Internal and external documentation of software developed.
• Ensure that the delivery and deployment pipelines are scalable and automated, and that all deployed solutions are appropriately monitored.
• Ensure monitoring, performance, reliability and quality of our applications hosted in-cloud environments, while thoroughly documenting activities, the solution, and its evolving processes.
• Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes for continuous improvements in application integration.
• Understand the underlying environment of our systems and suggest and make changes.
• Use Source Code Management system to maintain different versions of software.
• Undertake rigorous testing and debugging of code written by self/others ensuring test coverage standards are met.
• Ensure completed software complies with industry design.
• Diagnose and correct errors and faults in software developed including client feedback to ensure performance to required specifications.
• Provision application environments to provide a robust environment for the software developed.
• Support the development of a DevOps culture and mindset in the organisation.
• Share technical and application knowledge with own/other teams and support them to do the best work they can in the most efficient way.
• Participate in special projects and perform other tasks as required.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support for the client's products and services.
• Assist project teams in a technical and presales capacity.
• Maintain general knowledge of the client's products and services.

Customer Service

• Lead by example displaying a positive, service first attitude to internal/external clients.
• Build relationships and ensure open communication channels.
• Address any concerns and refer out of scope requests to the appropriate project team.

Administration

• Participate in team stand-ups and meetings as required.
• Support ad hoc tasking assigned by the Management Team.

Communication

• Maintain strong presentation and verbal and written communication skills with various stakeholders.
• Build sustainable, professional relationships with stakeholders, contribution to and supporting workplace harmony.

Continuous Improvement

• Maintain an understanding of the client's business operations and culture.
• Identify risks and navigate issues, opportunities and conflict resolution while avoiding unnecessary escalations.
• Provide suggestions and support for ongoing improvement to internal processes and ways of working

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer science; OR
• Extensive industry practical and demonstrated experience and knowledge in required discipline.

• Proficient in C/C++ development.
• In-depth hands-on development experience in embedded software.
• Experience working with git SCM.
• Knowledge of Object-Orientated software design and development.
• Software development lifecycle experience.
• Experience supporting and maintaining deployed software.
• Coordination with other developers for cross-functional requirements implementation and testing.

Desireable:

• Experience in developing software on EFTPOS terminals.
• Experience with Agile development methodology.
• Experience with ISO8583 or As2805 message specification.
• Exposure to Cryptography.
• Exposure to Java and other programming languages.
• Experience in developing REST APIs.
• Exposure to containerisation.
• Intermediate knowledge of SQL
