Industrial Electrician

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent or his designated delegate, the Industrial/Building Electrical is accountable and responsible for safe installation of building/industrial wiring including temporary facility, power and utility; and crusher plant and attend to their repair and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Installation of standard electrical wiring of temporary facility, crusher plant and other facility and structure that requires power and lighting.

2. Replaced busted light, fuses and electrical starter of all lighting as requested by end user.

3. Terminate and energize power connection of the generating set, check power voltage, current, phasing and writing connection conform to standard rating.

4. Conduct inspection, electrical and power connection of crusher plant and other power utility and support equipment such as electric air compressor and generator set and recommend appropriate action.

5. Check and inspect circuit breaker installation, controls and motors and ensure that electrical system are safe and efficiently working.

6. Interpret and understand various electrical symbols and its application, read blueprint, electrical layout, schematic diagram of circuit wiring.

7. Assemble, install test and maintain electrical wiring, industrial machine, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using standard diagnostic tools, hand and power tools.

8. Diagnose malfunction in the electrical system, locate the cause of breakdown and execute trouble shooting.

9. Inspect electrical system and components to identify safety hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair as deemed necessary in compliance with electrical and building codes.

10. Install correct ground leads, cable trays and electrical conduit inside designated partitions, walls or other concealed areas and pull insulated wires or cable through the conduit to complete the circuits between terminal boxes.

11. Comply with the company safety and environment policy and procedure including proper housekeeping and disposal of used or damaged electrical components.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. High school or Vocational/Technical course graduate in Industrial/Building Electricity would be an advantage.

2. At least three (3) years hands on experience in industrial/building electricity.

3. TESDA NC II Certificate

4. Knowledge of industrial/building wiring codes.
