CNC Specialist

a. Converts CAD files from Design group to run into CNC.

b. Ensures all equipment maintenance activities are well documented.

c. Performs additional task as assigned by the Engineering department manager.

d. Generates & publish reports regarding equipment performance, issues or improvements.

e. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

f. Machine parts to specifications using machine tools.

g. Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.

h. Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.

i. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

j. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

k. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and also product dimensions and tolerances.

l. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.

m. Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.

n. CNC Specialist authority includes:

o. She/he can act as OIC for the group as authorized by the Engineering manager.

p. She/he is authorized to raise a purchase request for tools or items needed for the CNC equipment.

q. She/he is authorized to put on hold product/s that do not conform to specification.
