Draftsman – Shipbuilding Design

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The scope of work shall cover 3D modeling and generation of 2D drawings using CATIA and AutoCAD. Main responsibility is design of Pipe route, Pipe Support, Duct, Floor, Equipment, layout and clash check with hull and machinery areas. Creation of General Arrangement drawing production, Detail drawings, Fabrication and assembly drawings, Isometric and spool drawings, and producing necessary documents and other drawings.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of Technical Drafting Course or any related course.
  • Preferably with at least 1-3 years and above significant experience in shipbuilding design or piping design using 3D CAD software.
  • With knowledge and experience in Pipe routing, P&ID and Structural supports for pipes, Foundation & alignment, Maintenance space consideration and equipment is an advantage
  • Knowledgeable in Isometric and spool drawing generation is an advantage
  • Familiar with international shipbuilding codes (JIS, JES etc.) is an advantage
  • Knowledgeable and has good skills in operation of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Knowledgeable and has good skills in 3D modeling using CATIA is a plus.
  • Must be hardworking, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Willing and interested to work in a Japanese work environment
  • Must study hard and learn Japanese Language to have better communication with Japanese Staff.
