ABOUT US:

We operate a new but growing YouTube channel that simplifies complex legal concepts into accessible, informative, and entertaining videos, especially designed for real estate investors and entrepreneurs. Our mission is to educate and empower viewers by breaking down legal topics with clarity and creativity.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a video editor and YouTube manager to lead editing and post-production of both long-form and short-form YouTube videos, and to manage posting of videos and growth of the channel. While proficiency in and use of Final Cut Pro is preferred, we welcome exceptionally talented editors experienced with other platforms.

Fluency in English is essential, and you will have the flexibility to set your own working hours, provided deadlines are met. The current catalog of videos is entirely comprised of short-form videos in various styles (including talking head, role playing, cascading reels, and text blocks), but we plan to add a few additional styles including reaction videos of popular movies and TV shows, as well as real police body and dash camera video. We are very positive and eager to learn and improve, and we will only welcome somebody who shares in that growth mindset.

TEAM AND VISION:

The team is currently Snapper Tams (the attorney and "face" of the channel) and one social media manager, who will be taking a bigger role in screenwriting, design, and management of other social media platforms once our editor is hired. We have seen the success of other legal channels, but none operating in the real estate, business, or entrepreneurship niches. A few examples of inspiration include:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished videos ideal for YouTube.
- Incorporate graphics, animations, sound effects, and music to enhance viewer engagement and retention.
- Design and develop thumbnails for YouTube videos.
- Collaborate closely with the attorney to align on vision and feedback.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in video editing and YouTube content creation.
- Coordinate with the social media manager to effectively promote posts across platforms and maintain an organized brand calendar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proven experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in Final Cut Pro is preferred; experience with other editing software is acceptable for highly skilled candidates.
- A strong understanding YouTube analytics including retention and click-through rate.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
- Positive attitude with a passion for growth and learning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience managing a YouTube channel and fueling its growth.
- Knowledge of legal topics or a willingness to learn and accurately represent them.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

All applications will be reviewed, and the top candidates will be invited for an interview. Some of the candidates who are interviewed will be invited to submit a (paid) trial project. One candidate will be selected from among the trial project submissions. Note that while we plan on starting around 15 hours per week, this may change based on workload, and we plan to build this role into a full-time position (40+ hours/week).
