Barge Master

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Barge Master
to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our barge operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine operations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

NOTE
: This position is for deployment to our site operations in
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
Only candidates willing to work in UAE need to apply.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of relevant experience in the rank of Barge Master/OIM and/or chief mate/Barge supervisor on a similar type of Barge.
• Must have experience in Non-Self-Propelled Barge-Flat Barge (Crane)
• Competency IMO Res ; 6.2
• Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure.
• Proficiency in navigation systems and maritime software.
• Experience in UAE and ADNOC field will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of barge operations, including navigation, crew supervision, and cargo handling.
• Ensure compliance with maritime laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with port authorities, tug operators, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to barge movements and operations.
• Conduct safety drills and ensure crew readiness for emergency situations.
• Oversee maintenance and inspection of barge equipment and systems.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions to ensure safe operations.
• Lead and mentor crew members, promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
