The Shift Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and utility systems within the resort. This role ensures uninterrupted services and compliance with safety and environmental standards while providing technical support to all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations and Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems including HVAC, generators, pumps, motors, desalination plant, and utilities.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain proper operation of power distribution panels, transformers, and control systems.
  • Support daily operation of the desalination, water treatment, and sewage systems to ensure compliance with health and environmental standards.

2. Electrical Systems

  • Supervise installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical circuits, panels, and lighting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety codes and resort standards.
  • Maintain accurate electrical load records and monitor power consumption to optimize efficiency.

3. Mechanical Systems

  • Oversee proper functioning of mechanical systems such as pumps, air compressors, chillers, exhausts, and ventilation systems.
  • Conduct regular checks on mechanical equipment to identify potential issues and ensure optimum performance.

4. Shift Operations

  • Handle all engineering-related concerns during the assigned shift and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with other departments for immediate repair requests and provide technical support to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain daily shift logs and report abnormalities or major concerns to the Chief Engineer.

5. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all works comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in emergency response and safety drills.
  • Promote energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.

6. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and checklists.
  • Assist in preparing maintenance reports, utility consumption summaries, and shift turnovers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed Engineer (REE or RME / ME or PME) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in hotel, resort, or industrial facilities operations.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules and stay on-site when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php40,000.00 per month
