BASIC FUNCTION

The Junior Microbiologist is responsible for performing microbiological testing and sampling for raw and packaging materials, in-process products, bulk units, finished goods, and potable and non-potable water. The Junior Microbiologist is also responsible for ensuring and sustaining the implementation of approved procedures related to laboratory operations and in compliance with current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), Safety, and Regulatory requirements.

In performing job responsibilities, the Junior Microbiologist should ensure timely and accurate documentation and maintain his/her area safely, clean, compliant, and environmentally soundly.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs microbiological tests in raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, finished goods, potable and non-potable water, and environmental
  • Prepares media, buffers, solutions, reagents, and materials needed for laboratory work
  • Documents all data in designated logbooks/test records accurately, clearly, and legibly as per cGLP regulations and prepare reports of work done
  • Performs required routine maintenance on laboratory instruments (equipment validation, calibration)
  • Engages employee involvement activities (process improvement, team meeting, housekeeping, training, documentation, internal quality audit team participation)
  • Performs laboratory sample receipt and tracking
  • Ensures that all equipment is calibrated
  • Maintains the inventory of laboratory supplies
  • Performs other related tasks that superiors may assign

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate of any science-related course such as Food Technology, Biology, Pharmacy, and Biology Major in Microbiology
  • With Microbiologist, Registered Medical Technician, or Registered Food Technician license
  • Preferably with experience in the manufacturing industry, specifically in a water testing laboratory
  • With basic computer operation skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php20, Php22,000.00 per month
